Ember Melcher
Associate Consultant
Ember, as Mr Jalan puts it, is the first young, bright, enthusiastic American professional to join the Medium team.
Ember capitalizes on her “outside” perspective to rigorously examine the team’s processes and conclusions. She strives to ensure that our recommendations remain elegant solutions built on efficacious methods that reach beyond what is routinely expected and deliver the truly unique.
Ember graduated from Oglethorpe University in Atlanta, Georgia with a Bachelors of Arts in Economics and a minor in French. As a student, Ember studied abroad in France and China, and worked as a research assistant. She was awarded the Oglethorpe President’s Citizenship Award in recognition of her academic and extra-curricular contributions to the university community.
Ember came to India in 2010 as a fellow in the inaugural cohort of the IDEX Fellowship in Social Enterprise. She spent about a year working with the staff and students of a low-cost non-governmental school in Hyderabad. Other past positions include internships with the Carter Center, Gray Matters Capital and the Center for Civic Engagement.
Ember enjoys mispronouncing things in Hindi and cooking from scratch. She can be reached at ember.melcher@med-ium.com.
